Laundry Cleaning Tips: Tips For Washing Laundry

Laundry is a lot of work. You spend time sorting, folding and going through pockets. What is the worst about it is that within a few days, there are more piles to take care of, especially if you have a larger family.

With that said, there are many tips that you can use and benefit from in the world of laundry. To get you started, read some of the tips we listed. Then, learn how to properly care for your clothing.

Get Organized

If you are tired of all the time that it takes you to do your laundry, the first thing that you need to do is to get organized. To do this, purchase several laundry baskets. Each bedroom of the home should have its own. You can then keep the person responsible for making sure that his or her laundry does not end up on the floor but ends up in the basket.

In the laundry room, you also need to get organized. First, purchase a laundry basket for each type of clothing that you sort. You should have one for your whites, your darks, your jeans, your delicates, your towels and so on. As the laundry comes down to the laundry area, you need to sort the laundry right into the basket. In fact, you can teach your kids (and even your husband believe it or not!) to do this.

Keep all of your supplies in the same area and keep them organized. You can even have additional laundry baskets set up for each person in your home. Then, as you fold your laundry you can put it into their basket. They can come down, grab it and take it to put away.

Tips For Quality Washing

Make sure you follow these laundry tips.

  • Keep your whites in the white’s basket and your darks in the dark basket. Mixing them will cause stains.
  • Do not wash synthetics with natural fibers
  • Always make sure that you check the labels on your clothing to know how to wash them properly. Do not assume.
  • Keep the fabrics organized. If you are washing lightweight things, wash with just those. If you are doing heavy products, all should be the same.
  • Do not use bleach on colored clothing.
  • Do not wash synthetic items with cottons.
  • Do not use bleach on wool, silk, and treated cottons.

Laundry Stain

Laundry stain removal is very important. You need to make sure that you get out the clothing that has stains and take care of them before tossing them into the wash. To remove stains from fabrics, you can use a number of different things. First, consider using bleach only if the product allows for it and has no types of colors in it. If this is not the case, consider using a stain treating solution. You can also use a bit of the laundry detergent on the actual stain as well. Let it stand for about five minutes before washing

Laundry Tips To Keep In Mind:

Now, there are always special cases to think about. To help you to know how to handle them, take a look at our tips.

  • If you want a nice looking, no iron piece of clothing, consider the permanent press. You will want to laundry your clothing as you normally would. Make sure not to over fill the washer. Before they go into the dryer, make sure to button the collars down and possibly the front. Add to the dryer on the permanent press setting. As soon as they are done drying, get them out and hang them on hangers. This keeps ironing to a minimum.
  • Delicates can be tricky. If you want to wash them in the washing machine and dryer, you can. But, you should do so on the delicate system with delicate washing detergent as directed. Before putting them in, place a couple of items into a pillow case and tie closed. Do so for the rest of your delicates. Add to the wash machine. This keeps hooks and lace from getting caught on the agitator and ripping. Dry the same way on the delicate cycle of low heat.
  • Drying your clothes should be done as soon as possible after the clothing has been cleaned. This will keep the clothing from molding or beginning to smell bad. Make sure the spin cycle has gone through completely.
  • Keep the dryer filter clean after each and every load.
  • Keep the dryer vent clean too. You can follow this outside too.
  • Dry your clothing for only as long as needed and do not overfill the unit. This can cause more trouble as well.
  • Fold clothing as soon as it comes out to avoid wrinkles.
