Anyone tried the Dirt Dog?

Postby lazycleanhomelady » Thu Jan 18, 2007 5:27 pm

Hi all--
New to the forum and wondering if anyone has tried this new vacuum. My husband makes a real mess in the garage and I am always afraid I am going to puncure a tire on the nails he leaves behind after his projects. Have any of you tried this device yet? Thanks!

Postby fulltimemommy » Sat Jan 20, 2007 2:49 pm

my husband has one and loves it. he used to use a big drag around shop vac. he always comment how it cleans "where no man has gone before." it also works on the patio. he always complained about sweeping but now never does.

from what he says I would recommend it.

Great! Thanks for your input--Shop vacs take up so much room, I was hoping this little "dog" would do the trick without taking up space!

You'll be pleasantly surprised. I have a roomba as well and we're extremely pleased with both. He's not the only one who complained about sweeeping / vacuuming. I'm no fan either. Well worth the investment. Some day soon vacuuming by hand will seem as barbaric as washing clothes by hand.

Dirt Dog Vacuum

Postby mrscleannw » Wed Mar 14, 2007 1:35 pm

I have looked at the reviews for this product and almost all were very positive. There are other testimonials on other sites that include photos of large piles of dog hair and other debris. They took before and after photos and the difference was surprising.

I doubt that I would have used my vacuum on such a large pile. It does seem, by the reviews to be a very impressive machine.

There are some things to consider if you are deciding on a robotic vacuum cleaner such as carpet/linoleum transition, how much clutter you have in an area (they can, and will get stuck) on other robotic vacuum cleaning issues discussed here: roomba vacuum cleaner review and robotic vacuum cleaner review.

It would be a good idea to be able to address these concerns before the big purchase, but so far this looks to be a nice little vacuum.

Good Luck!

I don't know about the Dirt Dog, but I can vouch for the Roomba. Its great (and quite entertaining for guests who haven't seen one). I got mine on the internet for under $150.
