Can I remove hair mousse stains?

My daughter uses foam hair styling mousses, and they have left a dark shadow-like stain on everything. All my towels and washcloths were stained before I figured out what was causing it. I can't get it out with bleach or stain sprays.

Hello fanatic and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately, if the towels have gone through the dryer, the stains may be set in. Before giving up though, there is something you can try.

Oxygen Bleach:

Add 1 cup (or according to manufacturers recommendations) of an oxygen bleach (like Oxiclean) to the washing machine then fill 1/2 full with hot water. Pre-soak in smaller batches and only put in a few towels at a time and let soak for about 30 - 45 minutes. Don't overload or things may not get as clean as they could.

When you have finished pre-soaking all the towels, wash as you normally would, again try not to overload. Don't put the towels in the dryer until you see if this process is going to work or not.
