here are the General Carpet Cleaning tips:

For general cleaning 1: When purchasing a vacuum get one that also steam cleans. It may cost a little bit more initially but will save time and money in the long run. All you have to do is make sure to dry vacuum the carpet first before doing the rest. Complete instructions should come with your purchase.

General cleaning 2: Just in case you do not have, cannot afford a steam vac or a regular vacuum cleaner; sweep carpet with a soft bristle broom, this broom must be reserved for the carpet only. When cleaning, use warm soapy water with a soft bristle brush. A carpet shampoo is preferred but if you do not have that then a mild detergent will do. Do not over wet your carpet or it may start to smell if not properly dried. Use clean water to remove soap from first stage. Open all doors and windows to air the room. Using an absorbent cloth mop up as much moisture as possible. Remember carpet should not be soggy, instead just enough moisture to get the dirt out.

Do not let stains set. As soon as there is a spill mop up with a sponge or absorbent cloth. Remember never to rub while mopping the spill. Rubbing it only sets the substance into the carpet.

For oily substances sprinkle a generous amount of cornmeal on at pat it in. Let stand for a few minutes then vacuum. Clean the area with warm soapy water immediately.
For spot cleaning of your carpet, clean with warm soapy water.
For set-in stains, blood and grapefruit juice use a non chlorine bleach such as oxy cleaners. You may need a general cleaning soon after wards because the isolated spots may appear much cleaner than the rest of the carpet after spot treating.

Steam cleaning works well depending on the equipment your are using..It's best to use something strong and durable for thick carpets!

Steam cleaning would be another alternative if you do not want water cleaning process for carpets. The advantages of steam cleaning are much more then dry cleaning. Heat penetrates into the fabric part and best method of removing stains and germs also. Steam get vaporize much faster than the water the carpet would be dry at the end of cleaning process. Hire some steam cleaners for this purpose.

Carpet Cleaning is very tough task. You discussed right point, Surface Cleaning and Deep Cleaning both are different and use to do according to place..You should have good knowledge about carpet material and cleaning products and chemicals. When you are doing deep cleaning you should have to notice marks and dust very carefully. So all of this is very important when you are doing Carpet Cleaning.
