How Do I Clean Grass and Dirt off Wedding Dress?

Postby Lindsay » Tue Oct 09, 2007 1:20 pm

Hi!
I had an absloutly beautiful outdoor wedding, But now the bottom of my gown and train is covered in dirt and grass stains. I've been reading up on trying to do it myself. The dress is silk and lace with beading all over. The color is a very slight off-white (not the tobacco stained white, as I call it) I would love to try cleaning it a home first before I call in the pros with the harsh chemicals.
Has anyone had any luck with this? Or have any advise?

Congratulations on your wedding!

Honestly, something as delicate as a wedding dress with beading, I'll defer this type of stain removal to a professional dry cleaner.

Good luck,
Mrs. Clean

After the wedding is over, you can either take your dress to a dry cleaner or attempt to clean it yourself. Remember that your wedding dress represents a large investment, and more importantly, a piece of memorable of that wonderful day, that is worth preserving in a pristine state!

Don't try doing anything from your end. Your wedding dress is as precious as anything more precious you could have :-). Do no experiment - give that to the dry cleaners.

You can do a old fashion in washing your wedding dress but it has tendency to get broken the wedding dress. Have you try the dry clean, well if not try it some member here they said try a dry clean. But there’s some procedure to do it, or look some dry cleaner shop.

I also suggest you ask for professional dry cleaning. It will preserve the wedding dress' condition.
