Leather care

Postby mrscleannw » Wed Apr 02, 2008 1:53 pm

Hello 1stclasscleaning and welcome back to the forum!

First, a few tips on leather care:
Leather should not be exposed to direct sunlight and to keep it in the best condition and you should clean it regularly.

For regular cleaning is best to use a soft cloth or micro-fiber cloth. Most people agree saddle soap works great on leather.

To keep leather supple, you can make the following recipe:
1 part white vinegar
2 parts linseed oil
Jar with lid

Pour the vinegar and oil into a jar, place the lid on and shake well. Apply to the leather with a soft cloth such as a micro-fiber cloth. Let it sit for 12 hours and buff. If the cloth starts to soil, be sure to use a fresh one. Store the leftover solution for future usage. This above was recommended from the following website:

For stain removal on leather:

First...always follow manufacturers instructions. Look for a tag and then you can look up specific information using the web. If you have no tag or manufacturers information, go to the following link for leather stain removal.

Always remember: When removing spots from leather, test any cleaning method on an out-of-the-way spot first.

Hope this was helpful,
