Biro printer ink is a quick-drying ink used for printing of newpapers. If this printer ink causes a stain, you should move quickly to remove the stain, since the stain "sets" more rapidly than almost every other kind of printer ink. The concern with removing the biro stain is not to remove the wood stain as well. I have listed 4 ways to remove biro ink stains, but test the option you try in an inconspicuous place first so you do not end up with two problems trying to fix the one.
Dish Soap
1. Dish soap is a degreaser which effectively breaks up biro ink stains and prevents them from setting. Place a thoroughly clean white towel underneath the stain, then dab with water and a few drops of dish soap. Blot the stained area to take up the printer ink. Repeat the process as needed until the stain is eliminated.
Rubbing Alcohol
2. Rubbing alcohol removes biro ink without damaging most surfaces. Place a thoroughly clean white towel underneath the stain, then dab the ink stain with isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Repeat the process until the paper towel comes back ink-free.
Magic Erasers
3. Mr. Clean Magic erasers really do remove stains like magic. Take the sponge and lightly moisten the sponge with water. Lightly dab (not scrub) the stain and repeat the process until the stain dissipates.
Hairspray
4. Spray the biro stain with a heavy covering of hairspray. Dab the stain with a clean paper towel. repeat until the ink is removed.
