I have a coffee table/ottoman & need to know how to clean it

Postby concurry » Mon Nov 16, 2009 3:51 pm

Okay, about a year ago I purcashed a leather coffee table/ottoman. It opens from the top, for storage, and has 2 little ottomans that you can hide in there. Also, the top of the coffee table/ottoman is in two sections and flips over seperately to have a "hard surface" instead of the leather, and it's deeper than the if it is flipped up to display the leather and use an ottoman instead of flipping it to use it as a table! (Confusing, yes I know, but hopefully someone will know what I am talking about!

I need to know how to clean the wooden surface, it's fake wood and just collects dirt more than anything else I own! I wipe it daily with just a dishcloth, but it isn't removing some stains.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello concurry,

My daughter has one of these ottomans only not as large as yours.

Dust off the hard surface first.

Using white vinegar and water mix a solution of 2 cups water to ½ cup vinegar and put this in a spray bottle. Label the container so you know what it is for future use.
Spray a little of the mixture on the table top and wipe down with a clean cloth.

The staining may be permanent. If you use this often and the staining is obvious you may want to consider re-laminating it.
