Dear Mrs Clean,

Please help! I left a wet soup tin on our brand new oak worktop overnight and it has left a black ring on the wood. The wood has been treated with Prime Worktop Oil. How can I get this stain out without damaging the wood surface? Any tips you can give me gratefully received.
Best wishes, Claire

Hi Claire,

You’ve stated your worktop has been treated with oil. Maybe the stain is not embedded into the wood yet.

There are a few solutions we have listed on our website. Take a look here: http://www.mrscleanusa.com/en/cleaning- ... stain.html

Something else you can try is to sand the stain with fine sand paper lightly, then reapplying the prime worktop oil.

NOTE: Remember to test an area first to make sure you will not damage the wood any further.

If this does not work out for you, you may want to consult a professional.

I hope this helps you in your treatment for your stain.

Hi
If you are still needing info you could try toothpaste which can be used to remove waterstains. Worst that will happen is your worktop will have fresh smelling breath.
