Hi there,

I have a self clean oven and was wondering if anyone knew of cleaning products which would be safe to use with it?

When I use the self clean function the oven gets so hot that it is damaging the surrounding kitchen units so I would prefer to manually clean if possible but am afraid of damaging the oven's insides with unsuitable chemicals...

Hi Eirian, welcome.

You can go to your local grocery store and purchase a cold-process oven cleaner. With this method you spray the oven at night, and wipe it down the next morning.

Do not forget to wear gloves, an old shirt, and follow the instructions carefully.

You may have to scrub a little bit, but it shouldn't be too difficult. Wipe down the inside of the oven completely to remove any remaining residue from the cleaner.
