Stain on grout

Inorganic stains come from material that is not from a living organism. It includes lime and mineral deposits, rust, soap scum, and stains from chemicals.

Stain on grout

I have what I think is a grease stain on the grout in my kitchen. None of my usual cleaners have worked -- Tile and Grout Magic, Tile Labs Tile and Grout Cleaner. I even tried a kind of baking soda mud that I let dry before removing. Any ideas?

It's funny that you mention this. I just posted an article about cleaning grout in my blog.

After time bathroom grout will begin to start looking gross. These are a some techniques to clean up that bathroom grout:

You can use a circular typewriter eraser to erase the dirt between tiles. Just rub it down the grout. Most typewriter erasers will come with a small brush to clear the eraser leavings.

Old toothbrushes are great for scrubbing mildew on the grout or areas where mold will grow. Hard to remove stains can be covered with an abrasive powder that contains bleach. Make a paste with the powder and let it sit for AT LEAST 30 minutes. Afterwards, scrub and rinse the area with warm water. You can find a variety of commercial products to eliminate mildew, but they usually contain bleach also.

Keep your grout looking new by gently rubbing it with a piece of fine grain sandpaper. To keep the grout looking this way simply coat it with tile sealer.

hi,
using Spray N Wash straight from the can. I sprayed it on and let it set a few seconds then took a damp sponge and the surfaces were squeaky clean. Inexpensive product and not harsh on the surfaces. Give it a try - you won't even have to use much elbow grease to remove the grease build up with spray n wash. thank you.

Hydrogen peroxide and a spray bottle is all you need. Use half a cup of the hydrogen peroxide mixed with one cup of water. Put it in a spray bottle and spray it on the moldy areas.

hi stain on grout can be removed with a toothbrush but use a bit of toothpaste as well. Better if toothpaste is for whiter teeth or smokers. But try on a small area first. It may be too good and you will have to do all of the grout!
