Strict mother in law:( help!

Postby Anna K. » Fri Aug 06, 2010 5:25 am

A month ago I moved in with my boyfriend. And of course all the housework is on me now. His mom sits and knits all days long. All she can do is to criticise me all the time… not so long ago she declared that I must use green cleaning products, cause she’s worrying of her health and the health of her son. I’ve gone shopping but I can’t find anything. All of such products are so expensive. And You need to buy different products for different surfaces. A friend of mine advised a multisurface + green. I doubt to buy it or not cause I’m afraid to screw up her favourite china doll collection. What u think? Has anybody tried that stuff?

Hi Anna,
Don't waste your time with buying this latest cleaning gimmick- Your get into even MORE trouble with your mother-in-law for being a very poor cleaner and slow too....

We're an actual cleaning service and we have learned by trial and tribulation what works and does not. There are very few specialty surface products that we buy- First of all because they are not as effective as they claim, and secondly there are tried and true tools that do it better.

This looks like liquid cleaning product enclosed in a spatula like tool. You will not be able to generate the force required when scrubbing. That wedge shaped cleaning edge will not get into nooks and crannies. Having to turn the tool over to spray then back to scrub is going to cause unnecessary strain on your wrist, AND will slow you down.

I recommend using a microfiber cloth, sponge with scrubber and any good multisurface green cleaner.

Good Luck!

PS. DO NOT use any cleaning product on a china doll collection with out consulting a specialist. Green and multipurpose does NOT mean it won't damage them too.

I totally know the type of white-glove inspection mother in law that youʼve got!
If youʼre concerned with getting your floors clean without leaving any sort of harsh chemical residue, I strongly recommend you try Green Works Multi- Surface Cleaner. It is a naturally-derived product with the cleaning power you expect from the people at Clorox.
