Ultimate Cloth, E-cloth, Tergo Ultra Microfiber

Postby Puddin » Fri Apr 23, 2010 7:13 am

These are three "similar" cleaning cloths (forms of Microfiber) which are used only with water. Each manufacturer claims that its "next generation" microfiber cloth cleans dirt and greese from windows with no need to rinse and dry. Clean kitchens, bathrooms, cars, etc. armed only with the microfiber cloth and water. Apparently when using these cloths and water, e-coli is eliminated. The claims are high, as are the prices for these cloths ($9.95 - $20.00 per cloth). I'd like to find out if anyone on this forum has had any experience with any of these "miracle" cloths since I can't seem to find any independent research on them.

Thanks.

Hello Puddin. Welcome.

We use microfiber cloths at Mrs. Clean for cleaning windows; they are not as absorbent as cotton but the fibers of a microfiber cloth don't break down like cotton does. When cotton starts to break down it leaves like a dusty residue behind.

Until studies are done by independent companies on these microfiber cloth and backs up what the companies claim, be cautious about what you read and use your own best judgment. As for Mrs. Clean we will keep using our cotton cloths, disinfectant, detergent/degreasers.

I like your "buyer beware" answer - good ol' common sense. Thanks, Mrs. Clean
