Vacuum Cleaners

Postby nikkimac » Fri Nov 13, 2009 10:16 am

I have been looking for a new vacuum but I have a limited budget.
I found a site that has a Dyson DC25 for only $150.32.
Is that a good vacuum and price?

I use a dyson daily at work, I do like the features, and the easy to use around furniture of the turning, tho I dont care for the knobs at the base, catches easy on chair legs and table legs. I have the one with the ball feature not sure of the # of this kind. but in reality its a good vaccuum, since I use it on 15 apts a day. The cleaning part is easy also. Hope you injoy your dyson.

Hello!
I love all the great info on this site! Glad I found it! I am a cleaning freak and I also work for an online cleaning company. I wanted to suggest the Hoover WindTunnel Upright Vacuum. It works amazingly and I am always telling people about it. Comes with on-board tools, qualifies for free shipping and has a 2 year warranty! Can't go wrong with this one! Sale Price of $149.00. Check it out! Hope this helps! : )

I have usually stayed away from Dyson just because of the price, but that does seem like a great deal.

What vacuum you use really depends on what you are doing with it.

as a professional carpet cleaners I prefer using the hoover commercial line of vacuums. but the price gets a little high. I think you did really well for a all around good vacuum for your house.

as far as choosing a vacuum, here are a few things I would keep in mind:

do you need hepa filtration? if you have allergies i would highly recommend it.

what hoses and attachments are you going to frequently need to use? if you are just cleaning commercial carpet you might not ever even need attachments, but if you are cleaning blinds and stairs you are.

how heavy is it?
A light vacuum is needed if you have multiple stories or if you are moving from one location to another frequently. the trade off of weight is often power.

I like commercial vacuum cleaners the best because they are easier to repair (the vacuum cleaning repair shops often have all the parts in stock for common commercial models), are more durable, and their electrical systems are designed for continual use and won't get overheated if they are used for a couple of hours non-stop. Many of the models designed for home use have warranties, but you often have to pay to ship it to the headquarters or find an authorized repair shop. And many of them have breakable plastic parts. I guess it depends on what you are doing with the vacuum and how long you plan to continuously vacuum.

Yes it is a reasonable price. What is the name of the site? If they provide a good service that is good .

That is one of the best vacuums I have come across, both for professional and personal use. Very economical, and you won't miss any spider webs.

Happy buying!

Edit: I forgot to mention that it will save you a lot of cleaning time by gathering dust very quickly.

I personally think that a canister vacuum cleaners (the kind that rolls around on wheels with a longhose and a small head) is the best. that way you can get the vacuum head into small spaces and under beds. the stand up vacuums can be more difficult to work with in small spaces, and often do not fit under furniture.
