Does anyone know what product would clean like the UK product 1970's era 'windowlene' This product was wiped onto windows leaving a film that dried as a white powdery film and then was wiped off for sparkling clear results. I wanted to use a product like this to use as a privacy screen on windows while we are redecorating our store, then wipe it off at opening. I thought that bon ami had a product. I do remember that there was something like this when I was a kid that was used in the form of a cake or bar like the size of soap bar that you wetted and put on windows....any suggestions? Maybe someone has a home recipe that does the same?? :D

We did find a Rust-Oleum product called Frosted Glass. Having not used this before, we can't recommend it nor tell you how well it washes off.

I've noticed many store fronts use construction paper or the like.

Maybe someone in the forum will also read your post and have more information for you.

Hi, I know the product you are talking about as I live in England and that's where it was shown. You can get it from Amazon.com although the bottle has changed and it will cost more than it used to, but I haven't found anything on the market to equal it, everything else seems to smear even if it isn't supposed to.
