To remove fresh or even melted crayons from fabrics such as clothing, you will want to follow this method.

• Turn the stain upside down on top of white paper towels.
• Spray the back of the stain with WD-40 and allow it to sit for five or so minutes.
• Next, use your liquid dish washing detergent. Apply onto the crayon stain back and work into the stain.
• Launder in hot water, as hot as the fabric will allow.
• You can also add color safe bleach to the washing if this is allowed according to the manufacturer’s directions.
• Rinse well and air dry.

• Use a dull knife to scrape any of the debris off.
• Apply WD 40 to the stain and let it stand for five or so minutes.
• Use a stiff bristle brush to loosen the crayon.
• Wipe off with a clean terry cloth.
• Reapply as necessary.
• Apply liquid dishwashing detergent to the area with the stain.

• Apply WD – 40 to a hidden area of the wood to test for color fastness. If it wipes clean, move on.
• Apply WD 40 in a light spray over the stained area.
• Use a clean and dry terry cloth to wipe the area clean.
• Reapply as necessary to remove the crayon.
• To wash off oily residue, use a small amount of liquid dishwashing detergent to work into the area.
• Use a soft sponge to work the soap into the wood. Use a circular motion.
• Rinse off the water, using as minimal of an amount as possible.

Remove Crayon From Tiles

Has your child colored on the tile? If so, here is a great method to remove the staining crayon from the flooring.

• In a hidden area, test WD 40 against the tiling to insure that it does not cause any damage. In most cases, it will not. Porous tiles may be a problem though.
• If all is okay, apply WD 40 to the area that has been colored.
• Use a clean terry cloth to wipe the area down, removing all of the crayon stain.
• Repeat as necessary.
• To remove the oils from the tile, add a bit of dishwashing detergent to a sponge.

The WD 40 will penetrate into the crayon and loosen it for you to remove further. You can then use a mild detergent like dishwashing detergent to work the stain out of the fabric carefully. Use a circular motion and use a terry cloth frequently to blot the stain. This will allow you to remove as much of the stain as possible without force it back into the fabric.
